The Costa Blanca is a popular holiday destination for many people. It offers most everything you are looking for on a beach, sun and fun holiday. Here there are golden beaches, lively nightlife and water sports. You may want to explore the countryside where you will find citrus groves and pretty whitewashed villages. There are many holiday spots to choose from depending on your taste.

The Costa Blanca’s premier resort is Benidorm here you can relax, unwind and enjoy the sun on the long golden sands. Benidorm’s two beaches, the Playa de Levante and the Playa de Ponient both offer a range of water sports for your enjoyment. You can try or improve your skills surfboarding or try cable water skiing, there are clubs in the resort where you can scuba dive.

The Old Town has a palm-lined promenade, quaint streets to wander around. You may want to catch the touring street train which will take you on a tour of the Old Town and the harbour. Other activities on offer which may interest the children is the Aquarium where you will see turtles, sharks and reptiles.

At the Benidorm Marina you can take an enjoyable boat trip to Calpe it takes about one hour, you will see the beautiful bay of Altea. Calpe has plenty of restaurants for food and refreshments. You may prefer to take a trip on the little train, the Lemon Express, see some spectacular scenery; there is a guide on board giving a commentary. There are other pleasure boat excursions on offer you may wish to take.

Benidorm comes alive at night, whatever age; you should find something here to suit you. There are live shows, numerous discos, bars with live music and open until the early hours or longer! You can find venues that cater specifically for children until around 10pm after that it is usually for adults only. If you are interested in country and western, salsa, Celtic or rock music you will find it in Benidorm. There are plenty of fast food establishments as well as restaurants serving more traditional food.

After enjoying all the nightlife, you may enjoy a leisurely stroll on the very pleasant promenades, if you need more excitement a visit to the Terra Mitica theme park may be for you.

Flight times from the UK to the Costa Blanca are approximately 2 ½ - 3 hours and Alicante is the nearest airport with a short transfer on arrival.
