Cervinia is one of the highest resorts in the Italian Alps surrounded by some outstanding scenery and dominated by the mighty Matterhorn. Cervinia is known for the quality of snow which is usually excellent.
There is a choice of good 3 and 4 star hotel accommodation as well as self-catering apartments. The resort is worth considering if you are planning a skiing holiday break in Italy.
The ski area is served by an excellent lift system and with an area pass you can enjoy some very challenging skiing. Beginners can start on the village nursery slopes and progress to the wide easy runs at Plan Maison.
Intermediates will find Cervinia a great resort, you can enjoy the comprehensive long runs and the 8km run down from Plateau Rosa. There is some spectacular scenery to enjoy on the way as well as some good mountain restaurants.
Advanced skiers can enjoy a selection of runs, some providing challenges and some with exciting descents. Cervinia is probably more suited to the intermediate skier rather than the more advanced. Snowboarding can be enjoyed by all levels of ability on the wide open pistes and at the snowboard park which is located at Plan Maison.
