The town of Ipswich in Suffolk, England makes a good base from which to explore this area of the country and is also worth considering for a short stay break. To get an insight into the history of this area you should visit the Ipswich Museum. A short walk from the town centre is the magnificent Christchurch Mansion this Tudor building has period furnished rooms and also houses a large collection of paintings by Gainsborough and Constable. The Victorian wing has displays of children’s toys, well worth visiting.
