Lloret de Mar is the biggest holiday resort on the Costa Brava and is probably most suited to singles and couples who are not looking for a quiet holiday location! If you visit here out of the busy main season it is obviously much quieter.
The resort has plenty of multi storey apartments catering for the masses of tourists who visit each year.
Lloret de Mar attracts tourists from all over Europe in the summer months looking for fun and amusement. Young visitors from Belgium, Holland, Germany and Denmark find the resort to their liking and it adds a real diversity to the people you can meet.
The beaches in and around the resort are clean, they are more shingle/gritty sand rather than golden sand. If you enjoy water sports and beach sports there are plenty on offer for you to try. The sea shelves quite steeply so young children and non swimmers need watching.
If all you want to do on holiday is laze on the beach you will find sun-loungers for hire, you can relax, enjoy the sun and the sea, and there are plenty of bars, ice-cream, soft drinks for refreshments nearby. The sea front is lined with bars and restaurants.
If you tire of the beach you may want to spend a day at Marineland, it is a fun day out for children and adults alike.
If you are looking for some enjoyable daytime entertainment, there are boat trips that take you around the coast and are well worthwhile, you can choose a short excursion for about an hour or some go out all day stopping at different resorts on the way. You can also choose a glass bottomed boat trip which gives you a view of the marine life.
If you fancy a stroll before the nightlife begins you can browse around the many shops here most stay open until around 10pm at night. It is cooler in the evenings and more enjoyable. There are some tacky stores but you will find some shops that may interest you, shoes and leather goods are usually a good buy.
If you like a lively nightlife this may be the place for you, Lloret lights up at night you will find entertainment bars, discos and some clubs where you can party until the early hours or longer.
There are plenty of restaurants, pavement cafes and take away establishments to choose from when you need food and refreshment.
Fenals is a quieter part of Lloret de Mar it has a nice beach a few good restaurants some shops and bars if you prefer a less busy resort this may suit you. If you want to experience the livelier Lloret resort it is about 10 minutes away.
