Beginners can start at the top of the Penken Mountain where there are a variety of easy nursery slopes. You can get excellent tuition at Mayrhofen’s ski schools to help improve your skills, boost confidence and enable you to progress more quickly.

Intermediates will find a wealth of well prepared long wide runs on the Penken which is the largest of the two ski areas and suitable for all levels of intermediate skiers. If you prefer a quieter less discovered spot try the Lanersbach ski area which is accessible via a new cable-car. The Ziller Valley has over 350km/220 miles of piste.

Advanced skiers can try out some tricky routes down the Penken Mountains. The Horbery ski area has a number of exciting long runs, there are approximately 22km of black runs available for the advanced skier. Advanced skiers can also explore the neighbouring resorts including the Hintertux glacier with the special Zillertal ski pass.

Snowboarders can have plenty of fun, challenges and excitement at this resort, Mayrhofen is suitable for all ability levels. There is an excellent Funpark with half pipe plus enormous kickers, everything you need to have a great time!

A kindergarten is available at the resort for children from 2years of age plus a non-skiing kindergarten. Both of these you must book locally and we would recommend in advance of your proposed holiday break.

Mayrhofen has about 150km of marked piste the Hintertux Glacier 86kms. The longest run is 5.5km there and there are 20km of cross country trails. The resort height is 630m, if you purchase a Super Ziller Pass you will have access to 430km of pisted runs including Zell am Ziller and Gerlos the free ski bus connects this huge area.

Mayrhofen has an excellent choice of restaurants, pubs and a variety of discos some of which open stay open until the early hours. The main street offers a lively Après Ski for your enjoyment. You will find popular venues are the Scotland Yard Pub and the Arena Disco, those of you seeking a lively night out are well provided for here.

Non-skiers are well catered for with many attractions and opportunities to try the various activities on offer allowing you to have an exciting fun-packed winter holiday. Resort activities include tobogganing, sleigh rides, ice-skating/curling, paragliding; skidoo rides, bowling and the adventure pool. There are around 45km of guided winter walking trails.

You may like to take the opportunity of visiting Salzburg or Innsbruck, excursions are available from the resort, and you will see some magnificent landscapes along the way. Mayrhofen is suitable for groups, families and couples; transfer time from Innsbruck is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
