Travel to Moraira : Spain

Moraira is situated on the northern coast of the Costa Blanca and approximately 50 miles north of Alicante in the beautiful area of Marina Alta this resort has retained a lot of its original character and atmosphere.

It was once a fishing village and has grown into a popular coastal holiday resort.

There are two sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, ideal and safe for swimming where you can enjoy a lovely beach holiday with good amenities, sunbeds, jet skis, pedalos are available for hire. You can choose other beaches part rock or a boulder beach which is ideal for snorkelling plus there are coves along the coast you may want to explore.

As you stroll around the resort you will see the pretty harbour of Moraira with many boats moored, sailing courses are on offer here. You will find many restaurants, some serving international and traditional dishes. There are cafes and bars for refreshment, some of the bars have live music for evening entertainment and there are some discos for the more energetic holidaymaker.

The narrow streets are lined with shops, bars and restaurants there is plenty to choose from. The weekly market attracts a good many people; clothing, shoes, crafts and fresh produce are on sale here.

An excursion on the famous ‘Lemon train may appeal to you it runs between Alicante and Denia. There are many places of interest to see in this area about 10 minutes drive away is the small town of Teulada, it still maintains its traditions and customs. You can have a little culture and some fun here; a visit to the chapel of Divina Pastora the style is Gothic & Renaissance and was originally a military church. If you prefer the fun part go-karts are for rent here for children and adults!

This resort makes an ideal base for exploring further afield; you can book various excursions or hire a car and see the mountain villages and some of the best scenery on the Costa Blanca. You may want to visit some of the larger resorts, Denia, Calpe and Benidorm which is about 40km away.

Moraira is a resort suitable for couples and families where you can have a great beach holiday, plenty of watersports and many other activities are available for your enjoyment.
