The resort of Palma Nova is situated on the south west coast of Majorca (Mallorca) this resort is quieter than its close neighbour Magaluf, the two resorts do practically run into each other. Majorca is the biggest of the Balearic Islands and has something to suit most everyone.

Palma Nova is a popular holiday choice for many British holidaymakers and is suitable for families as well as younger people.

The beaches here are clean and on the whole well kept you can hire loungers, parasols and spend some time enjoying the clear waters.

There are a variety of water sports available if you are looking for a more active holiday jet-skiing, paragliding and pedalos to name just a few.

The mini golf park ‘Golf Fantasia’ offers entertainment and fun for all the family, this attraction is set among tropical gardens with caves and waterfalls, well worth visiting.

If you are on a self-catering holiday you will find enough supermarkets around the resort area catering for your needs. There are numerous eateries including takeaways where you can purchase burgers, pizzas etc.

In Palma Nova there are English style pubs, cafes/restaurants bars, some with music, for your evening entertainment. Along the sea-front there are more cafes and restaurants some of the hotels have entertainment on offer also, if you are looking for a more lively nightlife head for Magaluf!

Palma Nova is approximately 15km west of Palma you should make time to visit the capital; buses leave the resort to Palma regularly throughout the day. Visit the fine Gothic style Cathedral which was begun in the 13th century. Wander through the old town and the maze of narrow streets there is a charming harbour area to explore you can admire the yachts moored here, stop at one of the cafes or bistros for some refreshment and do a little people watching. If you stay awhile you can browse around the shops Palma has a good choice of hotels, restaurants and a variety of entertainment on offer. There is also a large market held in the capital on a Saturday.

If golf is your leisure pursuit there are some good courses within a 15 minute drive from the resort, in the busy main season it is recommended you book in advance.

A visitor attraction for the children is a visit to Marineland where you get to see various marine animals including seals and dolphins. There are water parks at Magaluf if you are looking for a day away from the beach. Boat trips are available you can book a full day with swimming etc. or a short trip in a glass bottom boat.

Throughout the resort there are shops/outlets that sell a variety of trips and excursions it might be beneficial to check with your holiday rep or hotel as they can also book trips for you. There are plenty of activities and things to do here at the resort and the surrounding areas if you like a reasonably lively holiday Palma Nova may suit you. Flight time from the U.K is approximately 2˝ hours.
