Qawra is an established sea-side resort on the north east coast of Malta and a popular destination for many British visitors. This area has seen some re-development and is much improved. Qawra is a more traditional holiday resort than its close neighbour Bugibba even though they are more or less joined.
There are various options for accommodation depending on your requirements -hotels or self catering apartments if you have children accommodation with a pool and amenities would be beneficial as the shoreline is rocky. The area is great for watersports; snorkelling is a popular water based activity. You should also be able to find a nice flat rock to enable you to relax and top up your tan!
The resort area has a selection of restaurants; try a fresh fish meal near the seafront or maybe a local dish. You will be able to get something to suit both your taste and pocket.
Some of the hotels have sporting facilities plus day and evening entertainment for their guests.
Many people enjoy their evenings along the promenade stopping for some refreshment at a café/bar relaxing awhile and taking in the sights. If you enjoy walking you can walk all the way along the promenade to St. Paul’s Bay- another well known and popular holiday spot. Qawra has some clubs but if you are looking for a more lively night out Bugibba may well suit you!
There are many excursions/trips available for the tourist here, some are well worth taking to enable you to sample a little more of Malta. A harbour cruise is a relaxing and enjoyable trip to take. Qawra makes a good base for exploring more of the island; you can benefit from the facilities and amenities of the holiday resort and then perhaps hire a car for a couple of days and visit some of the visitor attractions independently stopping to enjoy the sea views along the way.
