Sunny Beach – Bulgaria is a purpose built holiday resort, this Black Sea Complex covers a huge area and offers something for most everyone! Whether you are looking to relax and enjoy the beach, the calm seas and the sun or would like to try something more energetic you will find plenty to do at this resort. You can try jet skiing, paragliding, windsurfing among other water activities. There is a diving centre which offers courses for adults and children over 8 years old. You can shop, go clubbing, and enjoy a restaurant meal with a bottle of wine, all available in and around the resort area.
There are various day excursions on offer at the resort giving you an opportunity to experience more of this fascinating country – you might also like to take a day cruise.
You may be spoilt for choice on hotel accommodation there are 5 star and 4 and 3 star hotels to choose from some with super swimming pools and surroundings, many of the hotels offer their own entertainment programmes and amenities. You can choose beachfront, close to the beach or in the centre of the resort depending what suits you and your requirements.
Nightlife is varied in the resort with a choice of bars, clubs and restaurants some have live entertainment, you can enjoy a lively night out or something more traditional, try a cocktail at one of the cafes/bars on the waterfront there are plenty of options here.
Children are well catered for with children’s pools and various kids’ equipment, games, amusements and of course the beach and the shallow calm seas, your chosen hotel will probably have kids clubs etc. There is plenty on offer at Sunny Beach for families. It may not be suitable for disabled persons but check with the tour operators who should be able to find hotel accommodation etc. that would be ok for you.
A recommended day trip is to Nessebar which is a really charming village with narrow cobbled streets, wooden houses and traditional architecture.
Try a scenic tour which takes you to the ‘Blue Mountains’ where you will get to see some stunning scenery and gain an insight into the history and culture of this country.
You can hire a car and take yourselves off to explore the surrounding area and places of interest in your own time stopping when and where you want. (Do not forget to take your driving license)! There are many fascinating places to see and it is worth taking sometime away from the resort to discover for yourselves more of this country.
Flights from the U.K. take approximately 3˝ hours you can fly into Bourgas Airport for this holiday destination and transfer time is around 40 minutes.
Currency is the Bulgarian Lev at this time - it is due to change to the euro in 2010
