Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol is a very popular holiday destination; it was developed as a holiday resort in the early sixties. Many of the visitors to this holiday resort come from the UK. Torremolinos is located a short distance from Malaga.
If you are looking for a fun packed beach holiday, this resort will suit you. Most visitors to Torremolinos will probably spend their days on the beach, there is 10km of sandy beaches to choose from, and the main two are the Bajondillo and the Playamar both have good beach facilities with many watersports on offer including pedal boats, water skiing and para gliding. There are plenty of beach bars for refreshments while working on that tan.
Torremolinos has many restaurants and most cater for the tourist trade you can get fish and chips etc. Alternatively you can find Spanish restaurants and good seafood ones, well worth trying.
As you explore the resort area you will find the centre of the town is a pedestrianized area known as Calle San Miguel the shopping area has boutiques and many smaller shops selling leather goods, jewellery and Spanish porcelain.
Nightlife here in the main season can be ‘lively’ and energetic with plenty of bars and discos to keep you happy; the nightclubs tend to open around 10pm you can dance until the early hours. If you like to the party this may be the holiday for you.
Torremolinos still has the largest concentration of hotels and apartments along the coast and some areas are packed during the high season there is a wide choice of accommodation to choose from. This resort attracts visitors of all ages; it is quieter out of the main holiday months.
If you want a family day out then a visit toAquapark may suit you it is a family attraction with plenty of fun and entertainment on offer. There are some lovely places to see and visit and it is a good idea to hire a car to give you the freedom of exploring further afield. Granada and a visit to the Alhambra Palace which was built in the 14th century is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Spain. If you prefer to venture further travel agents locally organize regular excursions to Gibraltar and Morocco.
